SGN notification of gas works starting in Croft Road and Long Hill
Message from SGN:
We are writing to make you aware of the forthcoming upgrades to our gas network in Croft Road and Long Hill, Woldingham. Our project involves the essential replacement of old metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure we continue to provide a safe and reliable gas supply to the local area. Our contractor KLT Construction LTD will undertake this work on our behalf.
In close consultation with Surrey County Council and at the request of a local school, we have been asked to capitalise on the February half-term school holidays to complete the upgrades. It is believed that the works would have caused greater disruption for residents and the school during term-time.
We have therefore agreed to complete the following, which includes traffic management in place to ensure the safety of everyone around the site:
- On 15 February 2020 for approximately 1 week, we will be implementing four-way temporary traffic lights to allow for the flow of traffic around Station Road, Croft Road, Long Hill and High Drive.
- This is for us to safely carry out works from the junction Croft Road and Long Hill, to just past the primary school on Long Hill Road.
- Vehicle and pedestrian access will always be maintained throughout the works.
Please note, we are finalising the next phase of gas works taking place in the area. Once these details are confirmed, we will be in touch.
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, residents and businesses will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
Please share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our work. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding while we carry out these essential upgrades.
Kind regards,
Nicole
