Woldingham Village Cricket Club
With the end of the season most of the focus of the club has been on preparing the square on The Glebe for the onset of Winter. To this end various techniques have been employed to remove some of the dead thatch on the square, followed by reseeding and application of Surrey loam to top dress.
Everyone in WVCC would also like to pass on their thanks to Woldingham Parish Council for recently agreeing to provide the club with an £800 grant. The money will be used specifically to fund a new mobile cricket net for the club. This will be used in conjunction with the All Stars initiative that we started this year in conjunction with Woodlea school. As such, it should be a superb addition to the club’s facilities and enable many more junior players to practice more regularly on The Glebe.
We will be starting weekday “indoor” nets in the New Year and we will provide further details in January’s magazine.
